Pond Says Hello is a solar-powered, autonomous camera installation that captures and shares glimpses of the stormwater pond’s daily life. Running on supercapacitors and ESP32-CAM technology, it transmits images via an email list. This low-energy system reimagines ecological monitoring as a poetic act of correspondence. The pond, usually unseen and perceptually fixed in location, now says hello — occasionally, gently, without demand — into a virtual world. A quiet nod to machine-mediated intimacy with more-than-human habitats.
