Shortly before the participatory event You and I, You and Me at the Sapieha Palace in Vilnius,* I met the artists Mindaugas Gapševičius and Maria Safronova Wahlström, to talk about their latest collaboration, and their series of wearable objects to experience the environment through electricity.

Participatory Event: You and I, You and Me. @ Sapieha Palace

CAC and Radio Vilnius are inviting to a one-day event exploring the environment through electricity. The event will take us to the future scenario, where humans, computing machines, and various hybrids share the space they inhabit. Senses are altered, and some have inextricable linkage to computing devices. In this narrative humans take responsibility to reshape social ties to avoid being controlled by corporations and machines.

Recently, three exhibitions under the title Shared Habitats were carried out by a team from the Chair of Media Environments at Bauhaus University, Weimar. Today, I am happy to share the publication, comprising the work of the last years at the Chair. Edited by Ursula Damm & Mindaugas Gapsevicius the Shared Habitats book is a cultural inquiry into living spaces and their inhabitants.

I am pleased to represent Institutio Media and Migrating Art Academies at Laikmenos/Timestamps, the Lithuanian media art retrospective at the Lithuanian National Gallery. In the video, I reflect on the period in which the Institutio Media and Migrating Art Academies have started. The exhibition features works adapted to the new context.

My solo exhibition created in cooperation with microorganisms and professionals from various fields, such as scientist Auksė Gaižauskaitė (microbiology), artists Antanas Gerlikas (glass) and Laura Kaminskaitė (exhibition design and glass), curator Valentinas Klimašauskas and others.

Workshop: How to personalize yogurt?

On 3 & 4 October creative workshops will be organized in the Alt lab laboratory, participants of which will be invited to produce and to experience their own personalized yogurt. The produced yogurts will become part of the exhibition “Microorganisms and their hosts” at “Atletika” gallery.
